I wasn't lying when I said I was bitten by the festive bug! I've been wanting to make Christmas macarons for a while now and I'm so glad I've been organised enough this year to fit them into the schedule!
After completing the gingerbread train, I immediately got started on these snowmen and snowflake macarons! These snowman macarons are just the cutest little thing! I never intended for them to come out faceless, but when I started to experiment with the eyes and the nose, it kind of came out weird looking which is why they've ended up the way they are! But you get the idea!
Given these macarons are oddly shaped and normal macarons can be so temperamental at the best of times, I wasn't sure that these snowmen would turn out in the oven so I ended up piping a normal round batch as I at least knew that they would turn out.
And voila, snowflake macarons!
Just like each snowflake is unique, so too are these snowflake patterns!
I love the blue on these macarons! They fit perfectly in with our blue and silver Christmas theme this year!
